Typical Day

From the moment our doors open to the heartfelt goodbyes at day's end, every day at Be. Independent Day Nurseries is structured to provide a balance of learning, play, rest, and nourishment. Here's a glimpse into a day in the life at our nursery:

Morning

Once children have hung up their coat and said Good Morning, they get straight into a host of fun activities.

We have resources out in each of the ‘zones’ at the nursery all day for children to engage with, these are rotated throughout the day. Staff also orchestrate more structured activities that play to each of their individual strengths, in relation to the 7 core areas of the EYFS Framework. Mid-morning the children have a hearty snack that is different each day, but always including fresh fruits and vegetables provided by a local farm! Outside exploration is also very important to us, with groups of children taking part in activities out in our garden throughout the day.

Lunch

Lunchtime is an exciting part of each day! The children independently get ready for lunch and sit down with Staff to enjoy a hot, nutritious meal.

We use an external meal provider that deliver only fresh food, each day for the children to enjoy. The meals are so

good, that Staff also sit and join-in at meal times. The children get to model excellent table manners and engage in conversation with their educators and peers.

Afternoon

Throughout the week we have a selection of classes taking place. Some in the morning and some in the afternoon, so each child regardless of sessions gets to participate.

Our current sessions include French Lessons, Music and Movement, Holistic Psychologist-led sessions including breath work and mindfulness, and British Sign Language! Children in the afternoon also have another snack break, including organic milk offered at both snack times and lunch. The children also take part in larger-group activities such as Circle Time, Story Time and Golden Time games with staff.
